My design practices begin with the orientation and attunement of the world-making and world-destructive capabilities of design. As I define design as the principle of action in any intelligent being, "Design" can create preferred outcomes, dissent, unmake, and repair. My Design philosophy aims to center the agency of actors as I strive to bring change through all four design spectrums, beginning with traditional, product/service, organizational, and social transformation design. I believe designers must grow not just in skill, but in character to truly serve others so it is essential to pay attention to the education and training of designers through character development as much as skill development and competence building.
As a design choreographer, I bring a transdisciplinary lens with a deep understanding of design theory and practice coupled with my entrepreneurial drive to solve problems at different scales while accounting for the short—and long-term impacts of design interventions. I do not have a set design process, but my background comes with rich design approaches made up of toolkits, methodologies, and frameworks that help frame the right problems and leverage contextually responsive interventions. With proven leadership in high-stakes environments, I bring a unique blend of strategic thinking, (non)human-centered design, and systems-level problem-solving to every project.
